Groundman (entry level)
DESCRIPTION:
(All of these skills have to be taught)
PAY: $11-12/HR
(All of these skills have to be taught)
- Mixing saw gas, bar oil, starting saw.
- Learning the tools, what the tools do, maintenance of tools, inventory of tools, retrieving of tools, packing tools up at the end of the day, ensuring all tools are put up, inspecting tools prior to putting away.
- Learning the ropes, the difference in ropes, the difference in use of ropes, how to put ropes up, checking for any damages of ropes while retrieving the ropes out of bin
- Learning knots, what knots are used for in particular situations, untying knots, ability to untie their own mistaken attempt of a knot.
- Dragging brush to chipper, running a chipper.
- Ability to back a truck up to trailer, or chipper.
- Ability to guide a truck to a trailer or chipper.
PAY: $11-12/HR
GROUNDMAN (EXPERIENCED)
DESCRIPTION:
PAY: $13-15/HR
- Can sharpen a saw, knows when to quit using a saw to resharpen.
- Can secure a wrap bar against a tree, can be responsible for operating the wrap bar and a good judge of how many wraps necessary per rig or load sent down by climber. Will not argue the climbers suggestion of how many wraps necessary if suggested.
- Can set up pulley systems or direction changes to pull brush, logs, or entire trees to desired zones.
- Can operate equipment, well enough to load logs, or escort brush to chipper.
- Can assist climbers in tools, ropes to be sent up into trees or climbers.
- Can set up tag lines from ground, or set up pull lines to be used to persuade limbs in a direction to assist climbers from the ground.
PAY: $13-15/HR
GROUNDMAN (VETERAN/FOREMAN)
DESCRIPTION:
PAY: $16-20/HR
- How to back up a trailer or chipper in desired areas.
- Can operate a truck with a weighted load on back (logs, equipment)
- Can pull a tree over in correlation with a man cutting into a tree.
- Can give orders, and coordinate an entire crew or job.. efficiently and not negatively.
- Will provide an entire broad standard in safety. For property assets, crew, and reputation.
PAY: $16-20/HR
CLIMBER 1
DESCRIPTION:
- Can sharpen a saw
- Can operate a JLG man basket aerial lift
- Can set pulleys, also be able to crotch rig.
- Can climb an entire day, minus lunch.
CLIMBER 2 (EXPERIENCED)
DESCRIPTION:
PAY: $250-300 per day
- Can fulfill climber 1 duties
- Brings their own tools and gear.
- Can establish a speed line system
- Can execute mechanical advantage rigging
- Can execute rigging, into another neighboring tree.
PAY: $250-300 per day
CLIMBER 3 (VETERAN/FOREMAN)
DESCRIPTION:
PAY: $350+ per day
- Comes with own truck or equipment, and tools.
- Can communicate in headset to ground people, how the entire job will be ran.
- Can pull entire tops of trees, while being tied into the tree.
- Can ensure production daily, and not manipulate time and schedule for more financial gain. Integrity is necessary to earn this role, nobody will be hired into this role. This is a privilege, and something that is earned.
- Can fulfill climber 1 and 2 responsibilities.
PAY: $350+ per day
